Green Schools 2020 - 2021

We are working towards getting our biodiversity Green Flag.

Hands up if you love Nature!

What a year it's been! We were trilled to learn that we had been successful in earning our Travel Flag and since then we've been working on our biodiversity flag. Would you believe that when we held our survey in October very few people in our school knew what biodiversity is..even the staff! Since then we've learned that it includes all of our mini beasts, plants and animals and even the weeds! We brought home some trees to plant and learned about the benefits of having a pesticide free garden.

We have studies our school grounds, identifying the trees and plants growing there. We mapped the grounds and identified the areas that contained biodiversity. We've also looked for mini beasts and checked the mini beast hotel that has been set up.

What a day we had when we walked to a local maze. That place is cool and a perfect home for biodiversity.
